📖 About Neon

A noble gas that glows with a distinctive red-orange light when electrified. Despite being the symbol of bright city lights, neon signs often use other noble gases for different colors: argon gives blue/purple, krypton gives white/green, xenon gives blue/green. Neon is the fifth most abundant element in the universe.

Fact: Neon was discovered just 3 weeks after krypton by the same team. Its name comes from the Greek "neos" meaning new. Despite its fame in signage, the world produces only about 500 tonnes of neon per year.
